A new cystoscope combines a high-performance flexible endoscope with a disposable sheath that contains the working and irrigation channel and ensures a sterile insertion tube for each patient procedure, eliminating the need for using hazardous disinfectants.

The cystoscope (CST-2000) allows doctors to visualize the bladder with a flexible endoscope (Slide-On EndoSheath) that is passed through the urethra. More...
The system also includes an ENT (ear, nose, throat) Sensory Endosheath that provides an alternative to the modified barium-swallow procedure. The test can generally be performed in five minutes and has been shown to be as sensitive and specific as a 24-hour pH test for the diagnosis of acid reflux disease that affects the throat and vocal cords. The system was developed by Vision-Sciences, Inc. (Natick, MA,USA) and has received the CE Mark.

"We believe we have the solution to the questions of how to simplify and minimize cystoscope reprocessing and improve practice efficiency for urologists, while providing patients with a sterile insertion tube,” remarked Ron Hadani, president and CEO of Vision-Sciences.
