A novel infusion delivery system based on magnetic flow control technology is as accurate as syringe pumps in all ranges.

A color touch-screen, similar to that of a mobile data device, commands the easy to use platform. Using a combination of various colors, font sizes, and schemes, the platform indicates treatment parameters and provides differing alarm notifications that allow caregivers to implement diverse treatments and programs efficiently.

By using magnetic flow control technology, the number of moving parts in the pump is greatly reduced, thus increasing the unit’s life cycle and keeping down maintenance costs. Disposable sets for the pump are available for both hospital and ambulatory care environments. The device platform is adaptable to changing regulatory, connectivity and other market requirements, ensuring long-term value for the capital investment in the devcie. The Sapphire infusion pump is a product of Q Core (Petach Tikva, Israel), and will debut at MEDICA 2011, to be held during November in Düsseldorf (Germany).

“Sapphire meets the need for low cost of ownership pumps that institutional, hospital, and ambulatory care require as healthcare professionals seek to cut costs and increase safety,” said Boaz Eitan, MD, CEO and chairman of Q Core. “Sapphire is future ready with built-in extra slots for all forms of connectivity, pump locator and other smart capabilities, as well as software that can be adapted to meet changing needs.”
