A new internally dynamized anterior cervical plating system (ACPS) allows for generous screw angulation while providing a large graft window. More...

Anterior cervical plating systems are used for intervertebral body fixation of the cervical spine in cases of disc herniation, canal stenosis, tumors, fractures, and instabilities, holding the vertebrae in alignment during the process of bone fusion. The Kinetic ACPS system features 2 mm of fully adjustable internal dynamization per level, an ultra slim profile (2.3 mm), and is pre-lordosed. The dynamic plates come in a broad range of sizes and levels. The associated bone screws are both self-tapping and self-drilling and are offered in two diametrical sizes.

In addition, the bone screws utilized with this new plating system feature the company's patented secure-snap locking mechanism, which produces an audible and tactile "click” when locked. This unique locking mechanism prevents both screw rotation and backout while still allowing for screw angulation. The system has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Kinetic ACPS was developed by Life Spine (Hoffman Estates, IL, USA).

"This is a unique product that allows surgeons to accommodate the differing needs of an individual patient's anatomy,” said Michael S. Butler, Life Spine's president, CEO and founder. "Kinetic's flexibility of design will allow surgeons another option when performing cervical spine surgery. The surgeon feedback we've had on this product is tremendous.”
