CT Simulation Software Provides 3D Contouring

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 12 Nov 2004
Clinicians can now contour an image from any plane with new computed tomography (CT) simulation software. More...
3D contouring is simple via points defined on any transverse, digital, or coronal view, all of which can be viewed within the same window interface.

Developed by CMS (St. Louis, MO, USA), the Focal 4.2 CT software's improved fusion algorithms enhance a clinician's ability to automatically fuse difficult image sets for a more accurate view. The software is DICOM-compatible and works with any other planning system, in multiple hospital environments.

Focal software is also designed to work with CMS Broadband, where clinicians can access the software via a high-speed Internet connection and review and modify plan data from anywhere. Station-to-station communication lets users move plans between any Focal station for increased flexibility when developing and reviewing plans.
