Alliance for Defibrillator Distribution

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 13 Aug 2002
A distribution agreement has been announced by Zoll Medical Corp. More...
(Burlington, MA, USA) whereby the company's defibrillators will be marketed to targeted European markets through the sales channels of Draeger Medical AG (Lubeck, Germany).

The products to be marketed by Draeger include the M Series defibrillator, targeted to the traditional hospital and emergency medicine (EM) markets, as well as the company's new first responder defibrillator, the automatic external defibrillator (AED) called AED Plus. Both platforms include Zoll's proprietary rectilinear biphasic waveform, which Zoll says offers significant clinical benefits.

"The cooperation enables us to complete our portfolio in emergency care, which currently consists of emergency and transport ventilation systems,” said Dr. M.Th.A. Teeling, general manager, Pre & Post Hospital Care, Draeger Medical. "Customers will benefit from the combination of two highly innovative product lines and expertise from one source.”

"Between Draeger's sizable market penetration, name recognition, and proven sales and service network worldwide, we anticipate this partnership will contribute to our expanding presence in European markets,” said Ronald Melieste, director of European operations, Zoll Medical.
