A company has received the exclusive rights to distribute the orthopedic products of Exactech (Gainesville, FL, USA; www.exac.com) in Germany and Austria. More...
Called Exactech Vertriebs GmbH (Diessen, Germany), the company is owned by CBM Cross Border Management, which has established a number of orthopedic distribution companies in central Europe.

Exactech says Germany and Austria represent the largest orthopedic market in Europe. The company estimates the German hip and knee reconstruction orthopedic market at around US$475 million annually. Already, Exactech has received a sizable stocking order for Germany. Recently, the first surgical procedure using an Exactech Optetrak knee product was performed in Germany. The distributor will initially operate with 10 representatives in Germany.

"Exactech Vertriebs' CEO Klaus Hagenmeyer has an impressive record of establishing successful medical product distribution companies in Europe,” notes Dr. Bill Petty, CEO of Exactech. "He has a strong network of independent representatives that we believe will help us rapidly expand our reach in Germany and Austria.”
