The 11th edition of MEDICAL FAIR ASIA (Singapore), considered to be the region’s leading exhibition for the medical and healthcare sector, saw its highest ever number of exhibitors and visitors thronging its new and larger venue. More...
Held earlier this month at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2016 was 30% larger than the 2014 edition, and played host to 830 international companies from 40 countries.

The exhibition featured international brand names such as Perry Baromedical, Swann-Morton, and Hitachi, and 17 national pavilions and country groups. MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2016 witnessed a record-breaking number of 12,000 visitors, out of which 40% were overseas visitors from all over Southeast Asia along with India, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Australia. Recent editions of MEDICAL FAIR ASIA have seen growing exhibitor interest from North America and the Middle East, due to the attractive burgeoning growth in Southeast Asia.

The co-location of MEDICAL FAIR ASIA with MEDICAL MANUFACTURING ASIA, the region’s leading event for the manufacturing processes for the medtech sector, is another big draw as between them the two exhibitions provided the ideal platform for all those involved in medical and healthcare. MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2016 was joined by returning national pavilions and country groups from North America, Europe and Asia, while also welcoming two new first-time national pavilion participants — Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

During the exhibition, there was a series of expert conferences and seminars, technical presentations, and product demonstrations, including the MEDICAL FAIR ASIA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE, Disaster and Military Medicine (DiMiMED) Asia Conference, and the Medical Innovation and Technology Forum, which was attended by 300 visitors from 24 countries who took part in 11 sessions. Delegates could assess the latest developments, exchange ideas, and update their knowledge in their respective disciplines, such as preventive and rehabilitative medicine, latest generation sports equipment, vector-borne diseases, issues of natural disasters, healthcare wearables, and telemedicine solutions.

The exhibition, which was held over three days, also facilitated 1,100 pre-scheduled meetings via a synergistic business matching service and saw a number of formal business dealings take place at the event.

Mr. Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia (Singapore), organizer of MEDICAL FAIR ASIA, said, “We are very happy with the results and feedback from the 11th edition of MEDICAL FAIR ASIA and the well-attended series of conferences and concurrent events. Many of our stakeholders have reported doing real business at MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2016, which bodes well for developing business opportunities.”
