The China Med 2012 (Beijing, China) International Medical Instruments and Equipment Exhibition once again confirmed the rapid growth of the Chinese medical device industry. More...

The 24th edition of the event, held on March 23-25, 2012, involved 515 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions displaying their latest technologies at the China National Convention Center (Beijing), with a focus on electro medical, clinical diagnostic, ultrasonic, operating room (OR), and rehabilitation equipment. Among the exhibitors were GE, Philips, Siemens, Toshiba, Varian, Elekta, Carestream, Wandong, Biochem, Roche, Maquet, Ion Beam, Shinva, Johnson & Johnson, Mindray, Lepu, Wego, Yuyue and Aeonmed, all presenting a wide range of innovative products and solutions to maintain their leading positions in the industry.

A total of 44,474 visits, including 3,318 visits to the high-level forums and workshops, were recorded during the three-day event, demonstrating that it has become a platform for representatives from international companies and medical scholars to meet and discuss state-of-the-art technology and up-to-date medical developments. Most of the visitors were purchasing supervisors (32.8%), technicians (15.2%), and company administrators (13.8%).

The exhibition featured nine conferences on topics such as orthopedics, ultrasound, radiotherapy, radiographic imaging, nuclear medicine and critical care medicine, as well as laboratory, medical engineering and physical medicine and rehabilitation. In addition, the China Medical Association (CMA; Beijing; en.cma.org.cn), and the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering hosted several seminars. For the first time, China Med cooperated with the Medical Journal of the Chinese People's Liberation Army to organize an academic conference.

China Med 2012 was jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf China (Shanghai), the China World Trade Center, the Hui Tong Xingye International Exhibition (Beijing, China), and the Medical Department of the General Logistics Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. The next China Med will again be held in Beijing from March 28 - 30, 2013.
