MRL Changes Name to Focus Technologies

MRL Diagnostics (Herndon, VA, USA) has changed its name to Focus Technologies, Inc. More...
The company began as a reference laboratory performing esoteric microbiology testing for other laboratories and has grown to become a global leader in infectious disease products and services, serving the international healthcare community from its European base in Hilversum, The Netherlands.

An ISO 9001 certified company, Focus Technologies manufactures and distributes diagnostics test kits for rare and emerging diseases and is the developer of The Surveillance Network (TSN), the global antimicrobial surveillance database. Within the anti-infective pharmaceutical market, Focus has become established as a premier research partner. The new name, says the company, was chosen as part of a strategic move to unite its different business strengths in one entity.

"We have expanded our capabilities over the course of more than two decades. The company needed a name that truly reflects all aspects of our business and our commitment to technology,” said Laurence R. McCarthy, Ph.D., president and CEO of Focus Technologies.
