By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 05 Sep 2000
The Internet-based Global Health Care Exchange, LLC, has agreed to acquire CentriMed, (Westminster, CO, USA), which focuses on e-procurement solutions for health care providers. More...
CentriMed's fully integrated solutions are designed to improve communications between customers and suppliers and to connect members of the health care industry in real time over the Internet.

"The acquisition will help the Global Health Care Exchange streamline the health care e-procurement process by improving supply chain efficiency and reducing costs for customers throughout the health care industry,” noted Mike Mahoney, general manager of the Exchange.

Formed last spring by five of the largest global health care companies (Johnson & Johnson, GE Medical Systems, Baxter International, Abbott Laboratories, and Medtronic), the Exchange was created to help health care providers make quicker, more efficient purchasing decisions by simplifying business processes and providing a single source for customers' health care purchases. Currently, the Exchange has 30 members.
