(Yokneam, Israel) and Coherent, Inc. (Palo Alto, CA, USA) have confirmed they are in discussions concerning a possible transaction involving Coherent's Medical Group. The companies cautioned investors about speculating on the nature of the transaction or placing any reliance on terms for the transaction that may be reported by any third parties. The companies indicated that, while they expect to be in a position to provide details about the transaction later, they have no further comment unless and until a definitive agreement is signed by the parties.

ESC Medical develops, manufactures, and markets medical devices utilizing proprietary intense pulsed light source and laser technology, used in a variety of aesthetic, surgical, and medical applications. Coherent Medical Group manufactures medical and industrial lasers.
