In a move to strengthen the company's surgical product line, Steris Corp. More...
(Mentor, OH, USA) has acquired FH Surgical SAS (Orleans, France) for U.S$11.6 million cash and assumed liabilities.

FH Surgical offers a variety of surgical tables targeted at different hospital needs, which have been sold primarily in Europe. For the year ending March 31, 2005, the company is expected to have revenues of about $10.7 million. The transaction is anticipated to be neutral to the earnings of Steris in 2006 and add about $0.05 in diluted earnings per share in fiscal 2007.

Steris is a leading provider of surgical and critical care products, including operating room tables and surgical lighting systems. The acquisition will extend the company's channel into Europe for surgical and critical care products. The company's stated mission is to provide a healthier today and safer tomorrow through knowledgeable people and innovative infection prevention, decontamination, and health science technologies, products, and services.
