Picis and Microsystems to Co-Market OR Systems

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 06 Jan 2004
An agreement to co-market and supply healthcare facilities with integrated sterile processing and perioperative information management has been announced by Picis, Inc. More...
(Wakefield, MA, USA) and Materials Management Microsystems, Inc. (Mequon, WI, USA).

Under this collaboration, both companies will develop an interface between Microsystem's Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) and Picis' CareSuite OR (operating room) Manager system. This interface will improve quality assurance and communications between sterile processing and surgical services. Clinical benefits include advanced tracking of sets and instruments directly to surgical patients, very important when infection control is critical. Since both applications share the same data and desktop, customers will have functional and financial benefits. Moreover, the OR Manager automates every major task within the preoperative department, the only such solution in the industry, states Picis.

"The integration of OR Manger with SPM will help clients improve the quality of patient care, streamline tracking, and save time,” said Brian Graves, director of marketing services, Picis. "We are excited to bring these benefits to Picis clients.”
